Being a board-certified radiation oncologist, Dr. Mahmoudieh has a special interest in the treatment of head and neck cancer and breast cancer. He specializes in the use of image-guided radiation therapy and intensity-modulated radiation therapy in the treatment of head and neck, lung, and gastrointestinal/genitourinary cancers and is highly experienced in the treatment of prostate cancer. At present, he serves as the Medical Director of El Portal Comprehensive Cancer Centers with offices throughout the state of California.
El Portal Comprehensive Cancer Centers consists of Merced Cancer Center, Madera Cancer Center, and Los Banos Cancer Center. Using a team approach, the staff offers compassionate care and leading-edge cancer treatments like advanced immunotherapy and genetic testing. They work very closely with Stanford University for patients who need more complex treatment or maybe a candidate for clinical trials, considering all treatment options and developing an individual treatment plan for each patient.
Having extended his expertise to include aesthetics, Dr. Mahmoudieh also serves as the primary provider for all aesthetic services at La Belle Medical Spa in Merced, California. Patients of all ages visit him first for BOTOX®, SculpSure®, laser treatments, and other appearance-enhancing medical treatments. They admire his knowledgeability and friendly face.
A member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the doctor is board-certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not for profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.
After earning his medical degree from the Albert Szent-Gyorgi Medical University in Szeged, Hungary in 1996, Dr. Mahmoudieh moved stateside to complete an internship at Henry Ford Hospital at Wayne State University in Detroit. Then, he was a resident in radiation oncology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, after which he served at Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento and Roseville as the Director of the Prostate Brachytherapy Program.
