A nationally acclaimed gastroenterologist, Dr. Khazanchi is affiliated with Florida Digestive Health Specialists, serving patients at their offices in Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota, Florida & at Center for Endoscopy.
He specializes in treating digestive health disorders including Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis, esophageal and swallowing ailments, irritable bowel syndrome and more. He is one of a small group of physicians who perform endoscopic ultrasounds for cancers and biopsies of the rectum, lungs, pancreas and esophagus. He also specializes in conditions affecting the bile ducts and gallbladder.

Academically, Dr. Khazanchi received his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston in Texas where he graduated with honors. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies, where he graduated Iota Epsilon Delta, and completed his internship and residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania & Hahnemann-Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he received the Internal Medicine Resident Teaching Excellence Award, MCP. He then went on to complete his fellowship at the Digestive Health Institute of Philadelphia at The Graduate Hospital- Gastroenterology & Hepatology.
Wanting to further his education, he completed endoscopic ultrasound training with FNA & FNI and ERCP advanced training with Biliary Manometry at the University of Montreal in Canada, and endoscopic ultrasound training with FNA & FNI at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in gastroenterology, internal medicine, and hepatology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Khazanchi is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the Florida Gastroenterology Association.
