Get to know Pediatric Endocrinologist Dr. Jil Huong Nguyen, who serves patients in Fresno, California.

Being a fellowship-trained pediatric endocrinologist, Dr. Nguyen is trained to care for the endocrine system in children, which controls the release and transport of hormones throughout the body. 

At present, she is in practice with Koala Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes in Fresno, California. She is also affiliated with a few local hospitals, including Valley Children’s Hospital and Community Regional Medical Center.

With a broad educational background, Dr. Nguyen graduated with her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in 1997. She then went on to perform her residency in internal medicine / pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical Center, followed by her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics, whose mission is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Pediatric endocrinology is a medical subspecialty dealing with disorders of the endocrine glands, such as variations of physical growth and sexual development in childhood, diabetes, and many more. Pediatric endocrinologists have extensive training and expertise in dealing with children and in treating children with endocrine disorders and hormonal problems.

Throughout her fruitful career, Dr. Nguyen has been the recipient of several awards and honors, including Patients’ Choice Award (2012, 2013), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2012, 2013), and Top 10 Doctor – City (2014).
