A Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN), the doctor is board-certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). After graduating Summa Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from SUNY at Stony Brook, Dr. Sadowsky went on to receive his medical degree from the Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a residency in neurology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he served as chief resident. He then served as a United States Air Force Major and Chief of Neurology of the United States Air Force Hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany from 1976 until 1979.

Throughout his line of work, Dr. Sadowsky has participated in numerous trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of various cholinesterase inhibitors in the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), a primary focus of his research efforts. He is also a frequent presenter at medical meetings and symposia and a prolific writer. His articles, which have appeared in such prestigious journals as the Journal of the American Medical Association, Neurology, and Archives of Neurology, have most recently focused on comparisons of agents used in the treatment of patients with AD, the molecular mechanisms of AD, imaging in dementia, and ethical issues associated with patient care.

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurologists are licensed medical specialists who diagnose and treat disorders that affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles of patients. They examine a patient’s mental and physical status, conduct medical tests and scans, and evaluate the results to diagnose and treat the patient.

Among his career distinctions, Dr. Sadowsky is listed in Best Doctors in America and Best Doctors in America, Southeast Region. He is also the recipient of On-Time Doctor Award (2018) and Patients’ Choice Award (2018).
