Get to know Gynecologic Oncologist Dr. Gerald A. Feuer, who serves patients in Georgia.
Dr. Feuer is a pioneer in minimally invasive robotic surgery and an experienced board-certified gynecologic oncologist with more than 30 years of experience. His clinical interests include gynecologic cancers, cervical cancer, endometrial / uterine cancer, and ovarian cancer.
Currently, he is a part of the team of professionals at Atlanta Gynecologic Oncology, practicing at the offices in Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Marietta, Georgia.
Atlanta Gynecologic Oncology provides trusted, compassionate and dependable care for women suffering from gynecologic diseases. Their experience in gynecologic oncology, combined with the most advanced, cutting-edge robotics technology, means that you, the patient, can rest assured knowing you’re in the best hands possible.
Having performed over 4800 successful robotic surgeries, Dr. Feuer has established himself as one of the world’s leading robotic gynecologic oncology surgeons. He was one of the first to introduce the procedures to gynecological care nearly a dozen years ago, and now gynecological oncologists traveled to Atlanta to learn his techniques and continue to study his training videos. Today, he collaborates with a team of robotic surgeons at Northside Hospital (Atlanta, Cherokee, and Forsyth) to refine robotic procedures, with the hopes to initiate more outpatient surgeries in the near future.
His other hospital affiliations include Piedmont Hospital, WellStar Kennestone Hospital, Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and Southern Regional Medical Center.
Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Feuer graduated with his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 1981. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, and his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Lenox Hill Hospital. He followed this up with a fellowship in gynecology oncology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the doctor is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology & gynecologic oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
With the introduction of robotic technology, the latest advancement in minimally invasive surgery, Dr. Feuer worked closely with engineers to develop procedures for the da Vinci® surgical system and as a result, he is sought after as a national and international presenter.
His novel works in robotics, including robotic treatment of ovarian cancer, have been published in peer-review journals. His papers have also been accepted at the annual Society of Gynecological Oncologists.
He facilitates advanced courses and training in robotics for gynecologic oncologists around the country, including peer observation of his cases and hands on instruction.
Obstetrics and Gynecology is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties. An obstetrician-gynecologist, or OB-GYN, is a healthcare professional who specializes in female reproductive health.
Named a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly (2017-2020), Dr. Feuer has also been the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2008, 2018, 2020), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2018, 2020), and On-Time Doctor Award (2020).
On a more personal note, he speaks both English and Spanish.
