Dr. Caldera is a highly experienced physiatrist specializing in general musculoskeletal medicine, pain management, interventional spine, electromyography, ultrasound, and spinal disorders. There, his responsibilities include seeing patients, overseeing consults, and ensuring proper placement. He is the point of contact for several services to ensure expedient transfer to proper rehab facilities. He also teaches residents about general rehab topics such as TBI, SCI, and neuromuscular medicine, is in charge of UBCLS at Penn Rehab, and strives to improve quality of patient care through weekly quality meetings.

Alongside his clinical role, he serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Perelman School of Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania.
Following the completion of his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002, Dr. Caldera went on to further his training. He completed his residencies at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan and Saint Clare Hospital Health Center.
