Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Jeffery J. Grace, who serves patients in Buffalo, New York.

In practice for over four decades, Dr. Grace is a respected psychiatrist who works on treating the overall psychological well-being in patients, detecting and managing the several kinds of psychological illness. He is the Clinical Director of the Buffalo Psychiatric Center in New York.

The mission of the Buffalo Psychiatric Center is to operate in collaboration with the local mental health systems of Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties to serve individuals with serious mental illness in a way that empowers the recipient and fosters hope and recovery. The facility offers a network of inpatient, rehabilitation, outpatient, residential, vocational, wellness, and self-help/peer services.

Pertaining to his academic career, Dr. Grace graduated with his medical degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1981. He then went on to serve his residency in psychiatry at the UC Davis Medical Center in 1985, followed by his fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1986.

A Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (DLFAPA), the doctor is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to promoting high quality patient care for the public through the initial and continuing certification of psychiatrists and neurologists.

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.
