In regards to his educational background, Dr. Ortiz-Aguayo graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico in 1998. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 2002, and his Master of Medical Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 2016. 

As for his training, he completed the triple residency program in pediatrics, general psychiatry & child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, and Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

Focused on the health and well-being of his patients, the doctor is board-certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry & adult psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, he is also board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).
