Schwartz is a very experienced physician, having been in practice for over three decades. He received his undergraduate degree from Stevens Institute of Technology where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, with Honors. His medical career began in 1981, when he graduated from the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University in New York. This was followed by a residency at Tulane University Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, after which Dr. Schwartz entered private practice. Dr. Schwartz has maintained Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine since 1985. He has Certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support since 1990. Dr. Schwartz was also Medical Director of an Emergency Medicine Department for 2 years. Since 2005, Dr Schwartz worked in outpatient clinical settings with several large groups in The Villages, Florida. His specialty is geriatrics but he acquired vast experience treating all ages while working as an emergency room physician. This makes him highly skilled in treating a wide range of conditions such as allergy, asthma, bronchitis, diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, obesity and skin disease. Commencing 2017, Dr. Schwartz has been conducting IDgenetix tests (DNA) that can help him identify certain problems with medications patients may receive before they occur, speeding the path to recovery and reducing the risk of experiencing adverse events or side effects from the medications. This advanced pharmacogenetic test is being offered to ensure the medications are tailored to each patient’s unique genetic make-up and other patient-specific factors known to influence how individuals respond to important medications.
