So RUDE. After 22 years, I am done with this doctor, as he is clearly done with his patients.. I have been a patient of Dr. Mankey since 1993. He has done 3 reconstructive foot surgeries for me on both feet between 1993 and 2006. I was pleased with my first two operations; the last one took over a year to recover from. My mother-in-law is also his patient and she had a difficult time recovering from her last surgery as well, a few years ago. Despite this, I was due for another surgery on my left foot and starting to be in a lot of pain, so I tried to schedule an appointment to go back in and see him. It took 2 months to get an appointment, and the only one they would give me was January 5th, the first day back to school after winter break, a difficult day to take off for me, a teacher. They didn't care, so I had to take the day off. The office staff also neglected to tell me that they had moved offices. They had 2 months to see that I hadn't been there since 2006; knowing the new address would have been helpful. I arrived at the old address on Madison St. more than 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment, as instructed by the robo-dialer the Friday before. I quickly realized the change, and made it to my 10:30 appointment just in time, only to be TURNED AWAY BECAUSE I WAS ON TIME AND NOT 15 MINUTES EARLY. Yes, that's correct. I was told that Dr. Mankey himself "made the call" to refuse to see me because I wasn't 15 minutes early to my appointment to do paperwork. Apparently the typical 30-45 minutes sitting in the exam room waiting wouldn't have been enough time to do the paperwork. Or it could it be done afterwards? How about sending it ahead to me during the 2 month wait, along with -- hey, the address! The fact that I had driven an hour to get there from the other side of the water, taken off a full day of work after a 2 week vacation, and had waited 2 months for the appointment was also unimportant to him.
