Dr. Yu, a reputable acupuncturist, is the proud owner of Dr. Yu Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine, LLC, a locally owned acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and herbal medicine clinic.

Known for her gentle and empathetic approach, Dr. Yu demonstrates a deep understanding of her patients’ needs. Her repertoire includes traditional Chinese acupuncture, therapeutic massage, and herbal treatments for a wide range of ailments. Patients in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, New Mexico seek her expertise in restoring harmony and well-being to their bodies.

Educationally, Dr. Yu earned her Medical Degree from the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Henan Province in China in 1985. With over 12 years of experience as a gynecologist and surgeon at the Chinese Medical Hospital in Luo Yang, China, she honed her skills before relocating to the United States in 1997.

Upon her arrival, Dr. Yu obtained Diplomate status with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), specializing in Herbology and Acupuncture. For five years, she contributed her knowledge as an educator and clinical supervisor at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine (IICM) and Southwest Acupuncture School in Albuquerque. Her instructional expertise encompassed topics such as Tui-Na, surgery, gynecology, and Chinese herbal medicine.

Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine and a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a technique in which thin needles are inserted into the body and in some cases, electro-stimulation is applied to gently stimulate particular regions of the body. Acupuncture is also used to maintain general health and well-being. Acupuncturists treat a variety of physical and psychological issues, such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, pain, digestive disorders, and infertility.
