Dr. Nguyen is AMAZING! He performed a cervical fusion for me at the c6/c7 level. This was my second fusion in 18 months. I previously had c5/c6 fused by a different surgeon in Tampa. The experience between the 2 surgeries is night and day different. My recovery with Dr. Nguyen is so much faster and easier than the first time. I had very little pain and was back to living my (modified) lifestyle in a matter of days. The surgery was successful and my symptoms have been alleviated. I have lived with Chronic back,leg,Hand pain for over 5 years. I had surgery a Laminectomy by Dr Robbert Getter in Port Charlotte Florida almost 2 years ago. After surgery I ended up 3 weeks later with a Spinal Fluid Leak, not one , not twice , but 4 times. About a month after all these surgeries I went back to Dr Getter explains I was in awful pain ! He excused me and said push through the pain your fine !!! My General Practitioner Dr Jorge Caberra did everything for me attempting to find what was causing my crippling pain He ordered a MRI and found the Surgeon had punctured my spine. He researched and found Dr Lam Nguyen Upon seeing Dr Nguyen he did more tests and addional MRI's only to find the root cause, My spine was collapsed bone on bone L-4, L-3 and S-1. Dr Nguyen fully explained what needed to be done and surgery was my only option. After surgery upon waking up the pain was at least 50% gone !!! I'm now 3 months post op and 95% pain free. Dr Nguyen is the ABSOLUTE BEST SURGEON EVER I can't say enough about this man. He's kind, caring, addresses all your concerns. Not many Drs especially Surgeons take that time with there patients. Dr Nguyen is awesome. On my first visit the doctor had me have injections in my sacroiliac joint which provided instant relief. Although this shot was temporary relief it showed us that my pain was coming from the sacroiliac joint. I am very impressed with Dr Nguyen as I have been having this pain for almost 20 years and he discovered the issue on first visit.

Dr. Nguyen had done a multilevel cervical fusion on me. I was in an enormous amount of pain prior to my surgery. I had been quite fearful of having any more spinal surgery because I had three previous lower lumbar surgeries done out of state. I wasn't looking forward to going through that process again. What I appreciated most about Dr. Nguyen was his compassionate friendly personality coupled with his vast knowledge. He was a vey understanding Doctor that did not jump immediately into surgery. Firstly and foremost he listened closely to me and my needs. He referred me into a physical therapy program which helped greatly with continuing to solve my problem. Although I did end up needing surgery he tried all necessary options before making the decision to have surgery. He prepared me for the procedure and explained in detail everything to be expected. The screws holding the rods that went up my spine had pulled away from the bone. I was in constant pain. I could barely walk about my house. My experience has been wonderful. I had so much pain before I saw Dr. Nguyen. He explained my problems and procedures that could lessen the misery. We tried spinal steroid injections first, but the relief did not last. He then explained two surgical options. I chose the one without the rods and pins and I consider the result amazing. I have no pain in my legs and the back pain lessens every day. Life is good.
