Get to know Urologist Dr. Rajesh Patel, who serves the Chicago suburban area at his private practice, Associated Urological Specialists and several area hospitals. Dr. Patel received his medical degree from Albany Medical College and has been in practice for more than twenty years. He completed a residency in urology at the University of Chicago and continued his studies by undertaking a fellowship in urology at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He has been certified by the American Board of Urology and holds an Illinois state medical license through 2020. Currently practicing at Associated Urological Specialists, Dr. Patel also serves several area hospitals, including Advocate South Suburban Hospital and Franciscan Health Olympia Fields. In his practice, he offers state-of-the-art treatment options to maximize benefits and minimize side effects. Dr. Patel is an expert in the treatment areas of Adrenal Surgery (adrenalectomy), Bladder Cancer, and Cryotherapy, among others. To stay up-to-date on developments in his field, Dr. Patel maintains professional memberships in the American Urologic Association, the Chicago Urologic Society, and the Endourologic Society. Dr. Patel currently holds a position as Medical Director of Robotic Surgery at Advocate South Suburban Hospital, and he is also a Governing Council member of Advocate South Suburban Hospital. Dr. Patel has won numerous honors and awards in Urology, including First Place in the Harry W. Schoenberg Basic Science Research competition. Additionally, he has been featured in several publications. A Urologist is a doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the male reproductive system, as well as the urinary tracts of both males and females. His profession covers the kidneys, ureter, urinary bladder, adrenal glands, urethra, and the male reproductive organs which include the testes, epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicles, prostate and penis.
