Academically, Dr. Thabet attended Jordan University of Science and Technology, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Surgery. After making the decision to move to the United States, he went on to complete a preceptorship of prosthodontics and implantology at the University of Texas Health & Science Center of San Antonio, which led him to become the Chief Resident at the General Practice Residency Program at MetroHealth Hospital.
