Get to know Nephrologist Dr. Michael Lotfi, who serves patients in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Dr. Lotfi is a board-certified and fellowship-trained nephrologist working with patients at his private practice - Kidney and Dialysis Specialists of the Palm Beaches, PA - in West Palm Beach, Florida. He specializes in chronic kidney disease, circulatory system disease, hypertension, fluid & electrolyte disorders, pneumonia, and more.

Back in 1992, he earned his medical degree from the Cairo University School of Medicine in Egypt. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in nephrology at the Loyola University Medical Center in 1997 and 1998, respectively. Finally, he completed an additional fellowship in nephrology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in 1999.

As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in nephrology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Among his other roles, Dr. Lotfi can be found on staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center, JFK Medical Center North Campus, and Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease.
