Dr. Gilbert is a highly respected and experienced plastic surgeon retired from practice. He was affiliated with a number of hospitals throughout the state of Virginia, including Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Sentara Leigh Hospital, and Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.
The procedures that he performed included: breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, facelift, Botox, chemical peels, fillers, dermabrasion, injectable fillers, otoplasty, eyelid surgery, liposuction, tummy tuck, rhinoplasty, light and laser therapy, skin resurfacing, and laser treatment.
Prior to his current endeavours, he was an Assistant Professor within the Department of Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Gilbert obtained his medical degree from the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in 1971. He then went on to perform his residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School, followed by his fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Ensuring superior care with outstanding results, the doctor attained board certification in plastic surgery through the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Holding fellowship status, Dr. Gilbert served as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada). He also served as a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
