Get to know Nephrologist Dr. Lalitha Ravichandran, who serves patients in Pomona, New York.

Recognized as a caring and compassionate nephrologist, Dr. Ravichandran sees patients at her private practice – Renal Consultants, PC – serving patients in Pomona, New York.

A native of India, she graduated with her medical degree from the Mysore Medical College. Upon relocating to the United States, she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at North General Hospital, followed by a fellowship in nephrology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center.

In pursuit of clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in nephrology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care or kidney transplantation when it becomes necessary.

As a testament to her success, Dr. Ravichandran has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2016, 2015), On-Time Doctor Award (2016, 2015), and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2015).
