He then went on to complete his internship at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center in 1960, and his residency in general surgery at the California Pacific Medical Center in 1961. Finally, he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, San Francisco in 1964.
