Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Angela Lijoi Gunn, who serves patients in Paterson, New Jersey.

A considerate pediatrician, Dr. Gunn works with children of all ages at Pediatric Primary Care – DePaul Center in Paterson, New Jersey. She can also be found on staff at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital.

She specializes in regular check-ups, physicals and vaccinations, and has expertise in conditions such as pediatric diabetes and atrial fibrillation.

St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital is a state designated specialized children’s hospital at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, providing advanced care for children from birth to 21-years-of-age. As one of the first pediatric hospitals designated by the State, St. Joseph’s offers a full spectrum of specialty and subspecialty services, including Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Room as well as the Regional Craniofacial Center, Center for Feeding and Swallowing Disorders, Concussion Center, Cystic Fibrosis Center, and global telemedicine conferencing programs. 

Relating to her education, Dr. Gunn earned her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1985. She then went on to complete her residency in pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania in 1988.

A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
