Her desire to provide healthcare to children began while she was a college student at Boston University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Following that, she earned her medical degree at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico, where she developed the skills to speak Spanish fluently and care for patients of various economic and social backgrounds.
Subsequently, Dr. Ivker completed her post-medical school training at New York Medical College and then completed her residency at Schneider Children’s Hospital/Long Island Jewish Medical Center, now known as Cohen Children’s Medical Center, part of Northwell Health.
Her personal life has been enriched in the most amazing way due to the clinical skills, guidance and care that was extended to her children at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Her impact on her patients spans generations and she is truly honored when a former patient brings their newborn into her care. It is experiences like these that make her happy to do what she does.

The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends individuals be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.
