Get to know Prosthodontist Dr. Richard J. Stuart Jr., who serves patients in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Specializing in prosthetic and cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Stuart Jr. is in private practice in Indianapolis, Indiana. Friendly smiles and a state-of-the-art atmosphere warmly welcome patients of all ages to his practice, and he makes educating patients on the importance of good oral hygiene a priority.

From routine cleanings to restorative dental work, Dr. Stuart Jr. and his dedicated team help patients prevent disease and maintain their healthy smiles for a lifetime. They also follow strict sterilization guidelines and focus on creating a positive experience for every patient during every visit.

Academically, Dr. Stuart Jr. began his education at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He then earned his medical technology certification from Ball Memorial Hospital, graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry (IUSD), and continued with his postgraduate training in prosthodontics, also at IUSD.

As part of his ongoing passion for artfully creating more beautiful smiles for the people of Indianapolis and the surrounding Washington Township communities, Dr. Stuart Jr. maintains professional memberships in numerous American dental associations. 

A Fellow of the International Team of Implantology, he is also an active member of the Indiana District Dental Society, the American College of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the John F. Johnston Society.

For the purpose of staying updated on the latest dental technologies and procedures, Dr. Stuart Jr. and his dedicated dental team participate in seminars and training. As a result, patients receive the highest standard of care that is both technologically advanced, safe, and as comfortable as possible. 

In sports, Dr. Stuart Jr. is a team dentist for the Indianapolis Colts and the Indianapolis Ice.

Prosthodontics, also known as dental prosthetics or prosthetic dentistry, is the area of dentistry that focuses on dental prostheses. Prosthodontists specialize in replacing missing teeth and associated oral structures by determining the type of dental prostheses required, having customized dental prostheses manufactured, and fitting them in patients’ mouths. They also treat temporomandibular disorders and various issues associated with damaged and problematic teeth.

When not at his dental practice, Dr. Stuart Jr. enjoys gardening, beekeeping, and spending time outdoors with his wife and four children.
