Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Rittweger graduated with his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 1977. He then went on to complete his internship at Newark Eye and Ear Infirmary, and his residency in diagnostic radiology at Montefiore Medical Center in 1982.
That same year, he attained board certification in diagnostic radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.
Treating adults, Dr. Rittweger is also affiliated with Hackensack Meridian Health Bayshore Medical Center & Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center.
