Dr. Steuer grew up in Athens, Georgia before going to Cambridge, Massachusetts to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree at Harvard College. After Harvard, he focused on surgery at one of the leading medical schools and training centers in the world, Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas. He attended medical school, served his internship, and completed his residency in neurosurgery before returning to his home state of Georgia and joining Polaris Spine & Neurosurgery Center in 1991.
Staying abreast of the latest neurosurgical techniques, Dr. Steuer introduced new surgical technologies, including intraoperative CT scanning for spine surgery, to the Atlanta, Georgia medical community.
Dr. Steuer is board-certified in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). The broad aim of the ABNS is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the science of neurological surgery and thereby serve the cause of public health.
