Get to know Dentist Dr. Tamer Shalaby, who serves patients in California.

Driven by a passion for dentistry, a love for people, and an artistic, creative mindset, Dr. Shalaby explores the creative nature of dentistry by trying to reproduce what nature had produced and make it better. 

Now a part of the team of dental professionals at both Rancho Laguna Family Dentistry & Dana Point Smiles, he focuses on implant dentistry and full mouth reconstruction and rehabilitation. He enjoys helping his patients achieve a healthy smile without compromise, producing exceptional results and better dental health. 

Academically, Dr. Shalaby attended UCI and later on pursued a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious University of the Pacific, Arthur Dugoni School of Dentistry. His passion for higher education did not stop at dental school, as Dr. Shalaby is a firm believer that education is for life. He attended the prestigious Kois Institute, run by the famous Dr. John Kois, where he focused on bite relation and full mouth reconstruction.

After dental school, he joined multiple organizations which focus on implant dentistry and reconstructive surgery. He also worked closely with Dr. Todd Engel of the renowned Engel Institute and acted as an associate mentor who helped educate other dentists on implant surgery.

Among his professional dental affiliations, Dr. Shalaby is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Clear Aligners, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Orange County Dental Society.

Dentistry is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the teeth, gums, mouth and jaw. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They correct bite issues, perform surgeries, address tooth decay, design esthetically beautiful smiles and perform other duties to ensure that the mouth is healthy. 

In his spare time, Dr. Shalaby likes to play soccer, watch sports, and spend time with his family. He is married to his beautiful wife, Tina, and has two children.
