Yes, children can have glasses. I would recommend that she does not sit too close to the TV and try to limit the time on the TV. Recent studies have suggested to have children play outside for at least 60 minutes per day to reduce the risk of myopia (near-sightedness). READ MORE
Can styes in my eyes affect my eyesight?
Many times recurrent styes are coming from a common condition called blepharitis. Blepharitis can also lead to dry eye syndrome. If your eyes are “dry”, you do not have a cohesive tear film which can lead to blurry vision. READ MORE
Can contact lenses protect my eyes from the light of my computer screen?
Some contact lenses have a UV filter. However, this does not protect you from the harmful blue light from the screens. I have patients who wear “blue light” glasses over the contacts to protect themselves. READ MORE

What causes keratoconus?
Keratoconus is a corneal dystrophy which occurs most often in young men. It causes an irregular astigmatism which can be tested with contact lenses when it worsens. It needs to be evaluated often because it is progressive. READ MORE
How often should I get an eye examination?
I would recommend annually, you may have changes in your vision that you cannot detect unless the doctor shows you the difference. Also, the doctor can also see if you are developing any cardiovascular diseases or diabetes through the eye exam. READ MORE
