A board certified psychiatrist with 35 years of clinical experience, Dr. Stefanovic is the Founder of Minerva Mental Health. Her area of expertise is diagnosis and management of anxiety and mood disorders, bipolar disorder, treatment of ADD, trauma, and PTSD, with particular focus on perinatal and postpartum mental health. Beginning her career in Eastern Europe, Dr. Stefanovic graduated with her Medical Degree from the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Medicine in 1978. She continued in the melting pot of New York City where she worked at New York Presbyterian Hospital, and served on the faculty of Columbia University, doing clinical work and teaching psychiatry in the finest academic setting.
In 2005, Dr. Stefanovic received the “Nancy Roeske, MD” Certificate, an annual award by the American Psychiatric Association for excellence in teaching and academic psychiatry.
Board certified in psychiatry, she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
Working for the Health Hospital Corporation of NYC, Dr. Stefanovic developed and managed programs for in-patient psychiatry. In 2011, she developed and implemented the first in-patient program for pregnant and postpartum women in the public health setting in New York.
