Dr. Thompson is a licensed clinical psychologist & board-certified neurofeedback specialist who has dedicated his career to helping hundreds of individuals and families cultivate insight and develop skills to enhance their lives.

Working with adults, adolescents, children and their families, he is a part of ACP Consultants in Park Ridge, Illinois. He can also be found on staff at Ascension Holy Family in Des Plaines.

Brain-related issues are Dr. Thompson’s specialty. His assessment services include neuropsychological assessment and quantitative EEG (qEEG) brain mapping. His treatment services for brain-related concerns include neurofeedback, photobiomodulation, and psychotherapy. 

Some of the most common diagnostic conditions that he assesses and treats include ADHD, learning disorders, autism, developmental delay, traumatic brain injury, stroke, intellectual disability, dementia, anxiety, and depression, among others.

Educated in the United States, Dr. Thompson earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from Saint Louis University in 2009. He then went on to earn both his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and Doctor of Clinical Psychology degrees from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2013 and 2018, respectively. 

Subsequently, he completed a predoctoral internship training at BaySide NeuroRehab Services in Portland, Maine with an emphasis on clinical neuropsychological assessment for brain-injured populations. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Northwest Biofeedback Center.

Professionally, Dr. Thompson has worked in a range of settings, including private practices, hospitals, and community mental health centers, providing neuropsychological evaluations, psychotherapy, qEEG brain mapping, and neurofeedback services. He has also lectured on the effects of substance abuse on brain functioning while on staff at Ascension Holy Family.
