Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Hamid R. Feiz serves as the liaison between the medical staff and hospital administration. His responsibilities include JFK Medical Center and JFK North Campus’ clinical agenda and utilization review, in conjunction with administration and medical staff leaders.
In regards to his education, Dr. Feiz earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California Northridge and his medical degree from Universidad Iberoamericana School of Medicine in the Dominican Republic. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, and the University of Florida-Shands Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. He graduated with his Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
Previously, Dr. Feiz was the Founding Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, as well as Site Medical Director for Emcare IPS at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center and Westside Regional Hospital.
Previous appointments include Chief Quality Officer and Associate Chief Medical Officer for the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach, Florida; Chief Section of Hospitalist Medicine with Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Westin, Florida; and Medical Director of Spring Hill Medical Group Primary Care and Urgent Care Center in Gainesville, Florida.
Dr. Feiz is board certified in internal medicine and a Fellow in Hospital Medicine. He has been awarded by the American College of Physicians in 2015 with the “Top Physician Award” and has been the recipient of the Emcare Hospitalist Regional Award, “Most Improved Hospitalist Program.” He is actively engaged in research and scholarly activities.
