Does a jawline lift actually work?
Jawlilne lift in my mind is the augmentationo of the angle of the mandible with any type of filler material, ie. FAT or HAs. Yes it does work if it is done correctly. Besides the fact that some people have genetically small mandibles with aging we are losing bone tissue too, so augmentation of the bone is beneficial. Thank you for your question. Can neck skin be tightened without surgery?
Yes, it can, but not on the extent of a facelift/necklift. It can be done with bipolar radio frequency and micro needling known as Morpheus. It works by tightening the ligaments between the skin and the muscle. The satisfaction rate is very high on appropriately selected patients. READ MORE

Can burn marks for a 5 year old be treated with plastic surgery?
Care of the wound depends on if is acute or chronic. The management of acute burn depends on the depth of the wound and the area involved. Chronic scars from burns may need skin graft , release of scar tissue and possible tissue rearrangement procedures. Appropriate Hand burn care is paramount due to the high functional nature of the hand. If is deep and full thickness skin graft most likely will be the method of reconstruction. READ MORE
Can 15 year old burn marks be removed with plastic surgery?
Hello, thank you for your question. You should be able to get an aesthetically and, if needed, functionally improved scar. Kindly, Dr. George M. Varkarakis, M.D. READ MORE
Does liposcution help one lose weight or does it only tighten the skin?
Thank you for your interesting question. Liposuction is not a method to lose weight. It is for reshaping the body by removing fat, which is unable to be removed with diet or exercise. Some methods of liposuction may also tighten the skin, but this will take 3-6months. The healthier and more physically active you are, the better the results would be. The advantage of the technique I use at my office is that I can perform liposuction safely under local anesthesia with minimal discomfort and faster recovery. Dr. George M. Varkarakis, M.D. READ MORE
Is botox safe for a 56 year old woman with diabetes?
Thank you for your good and interesting question. Patients with medical history of diabetes may use Botox for aesthetic indications (i.e., brow elevation, decrease wrinkles, etc.). I would confirm though that my blood sugar values are under control before I proceed with any Botox injection. Stay well. Dr. George M. Varkarakis, M.D. READ MORE
My daughter is 4 years old and has burnt her hand by dropping hot water. Is skin grafting recommended for her considering age?
Thank you for the question. If it is minor, it should heal just with wound care. If the burn is deeper with signs of compromised skin viability, a full thickness skin graft maybe appropriate. In chronic cases, if there is a decreased range of motion of the hand, then there is an indication for a skin graft. Most likely, the only care your son will need is wound care with creams like Vaseline. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions. All the best, Dr. George M.
