595 N. Dobson Rd. Ste A-5 Ste A-5 Chandler AZ, 85224About
Dr. Huy Phan is a Cardiologist/Cardiac Electrophysiologist practicing in the East Valley of Phoenix, AZ. Dr. Phan has served the patients in the East Valley since 2012. He is the former Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Phan is skilled in management and ablation for various heart arrhythmia. Dr. Phan is the first Electrophysiologist in Arizona state to eliminate the use of X-Ray in ablation procedures. This abolishes the negative effect of radiation on patients and staff.
Dr. Phan also implants WATCHMAN device in qualified patients with atrial fibrillation to prevent stroke.
In addition, Dr. Phan implants various cardiac devices such as loop recorder (heart monitor), pacemaker, defibrillator, and cardiac resynchronizing device.
Dr. Phan is a fellow of American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society. He is currently involved in many scientific research studies that help to advance the field of Electrophysiology.
Dr. Phan lives in Chandler, AZ with his wife. They enjoy hiking, traveling, gardening, and singing karaoke.

Dr. Phan is the first Cardiac Electrophysiologist in the state of Arizona who has eliminated the use of X-ray fluoroscopy in ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, and supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). In 2014, he founded Valley Heart Rhythm Specialists, PLLC, a practice which remains committed to providing the best care in the field of cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Phan is the former Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Phan graduated summa cum laude with honors from the University of Arizona with a degree in Molecular Cellular Biology. He completed his medical education at the University of Texas Medical School At Houston and received his PhD degree in Molecular Genetics at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Thereafter, he returned to Tucson for his residency at the University Medical Center and served a year as Chief Resident in the Department of Internal Medicine. Dr. Phan then finished his fellowship training in general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at the University of California in San Diego.
Dr. Phan is board-certified in both general cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. He is also certified in echocardiography.
Dr. Phan is a Fellow of the Heart & Rhythm Society (FHRS), as well as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
Dr. Phan has participated in scientific research and has been a co-investigator in multiple clinical studies since his fellowship. He has also presented at many national and international conferences.
Cardiac electrophysiology is the science of elucidating, diagnosing, and treating the electrical activities of the heart. The term is usually used to describe studies of such phenomena by invasive catheter recording of spontaneous activity as well as of cardiac responses to programmed electrical stimulation. As a cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Phan has expertise in the treatment and ablation of various cardiac arrhythmias. He is skilled in both radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation methods for atrial fibrillation. He also employs forefront new technologies in 3D mapping and ablation to improve patient safety and outcomes.
Dr. Phan implants a wide spectrum of cardiac devices such as loop recorders, pacemakers, defibrillators, and bi-ventricular systems (or cardiac resynchronization therapy). Furthermore, with support of the Structural Heart Team at the Chandler Regional Medical Center, he implants WATCHMAN devices for patients with atrial fibrillation to prevent strokes.
Dr. Phan speaks fluent English and Vietnamese. He lives in Chandler, Arizona with his wife, Tammy, who teaches special ed children at Chandler Unified School District. They enjoy hiking, traveling, gardening, and singing karaoke.
