A competent osteopathic manipulative medicine specialist, Dr. Hiserote sees patients at his private practice – Blue Sky Osteopathy – in Sebastopol, California.

At Blue Sky Osteopathy, the doctor endeavors to identify and facilitate that balance through established osteopathic manipulation (hands-on diagnosis and treatment) and when indicated, traditional medical as well as integrative diagnostic testing, all under the philosophy and practices of traditional osteopathy.

A California native, he is an alumnus of the Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine (class of 1998), where he additionally completed an undergraduate teaching fellowship in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. His postgraduate training was completed at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center.

With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor currently maintains board certification in Neuromusculoskeletal & Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine from the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromuscular Medicine, Certification of Proficiency from the Osteopathic Cranial Academy and is a Costin scholar from the Midwestern University – Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Professionally, Dr. Hiserote is currently sitting on the Osteopathic Cranial Academy and Osteopathic Center for Children nonprofit boards. His academic positions have included Adjunct, Assistant, and Associate Professor, with responsibilities that included Vice Chair and subsequently Chair of Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM)’s Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Department.

His enthusiasm for teaching and articulation of osteopathic medicine began as an undergraduate teaching Fellow while at Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WUCOM) in 1996 under Dr. Viola Frymann, and continues to present day as course director and lecturer for the Osteopathic Promise to Children.

Past faculty forums have included the Osteopathic Cranial Academy (OCA), WUCOM, and the Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation (SCTF) in their respective courses that support traditional osteopathy. Additionally, his teaching expertise has earned him privileged lecture opportunities in venues that have included UC California at Berkeley, UC California at Davis, as well as internationally in Paris, France, and Nagoya, Japan.
