Dr. Narouze is a renowned expert in the field of headache and pain medicine, with a particular focus on minimally invasive techniques. He is the Chairman of the Center for Pain Medicine at Western Reserve Hospital in Ohio and holds academic positions at both Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Ohio State University.

Before embarking on his professional journey, he graduated with his medical degree from the Ain Shams University Faculty of Medicine in Egypt. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in anesthesiology and pain medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where he later served as the Program Director and received the title of “Master Educator.” He also received his Doctor of Philosophy degree in cervicogenic headaches from Maastricht University in the Netherlands in 2012.

Recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine (DABPM) and a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP), the doctor is board-certified in several areas including pain medicine, neurology, headache medicine, interventional pain management, and anesthesiology.

On a professional level, Dr. Narouze obtained his Masters of Medical Management (MMM) from Carnegie Mellon University in 2023. Dr. Narouze is the founder of the American Interventional Headache Society (AIHS) and he is the immediate past president and serves on the board of directors for the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA Pain Medicine). He is also active in various committees for the American Academy of Pain Medicine and other national and international headache and pain organizations.

A highly sought-after speaker and visiting professor on both national and international level, he has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and has written several books on topics related to interventional pain management and headache management. His atlas on ultrasound-guided procedures in interventional pain management was named a “best seller” by Springer in 2012. He is also the author of the first and only book on interventional headache management, “Interventional Management of Headache and Face Pain: Nerve Blocks and Beyond,” published in 2014. In 2021, Dr. Narouze released the long-awaited book on “Cannabinoids and Pain”. He is the lead author for many clinical practice guidelines for pain and headache practice.
