Subsequent to his education, the doctor attained board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease medicine, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The American Board of Internal Medicine is a 501 nonprofit, self-appointed physician-evaluation organization that certifies physicians practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. Clinical cardiac electrophysiology is a branch of the medical specialty of cardiology and is concerned with the study and treatment of rhythm disorders of the heart.

A member of the Heart Rhythm Society, Dr. Rasekh is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is the recipient of the Bronze Medical Award for Clinical Research Thesis at the University of Paris XIII, as well as Chief Fellow at Texas Heart Institute Cardiology Disease Fellowship at St. Luke's.
