Dr. Karges is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is affiliated with SLUCare Physician Group in St. Louis, Missouri. SLUCare Physician Group is the academic medical practice of Saint Louis University, with more than 600 health care providers in hospitals and medical offices throughout the St. Louis region. In addition to treating patients, SLUCare physicians educate the next generation of health care professionals at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. 

At SLUCare Physician Group, Dr. Karges treats patients with foot and ankle injuries and conditions. He sees new patients, as well as those who require outpatient clinic care. His areas of clinical interest include foot and ankle trauma, reconstruction, and arthroplasty.

 Dr. Karges is a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Karges is also affiliated with Des Peres Hospital, SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital, and SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. 

Dr. Karges earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at Oakland General Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan. He also completed his fellowship training at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, as well as at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. 

Dr. Karges has been named “Best Doctor” in St. Louis Magazine from 2005 – 2019. Dr. Karges is a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). The AOA is the representative member organization for the more than 145,000 osteopathic medical doctors and osteopathic medical students in the United States.

Dr. Karges is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery – an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
