Dr. Pita is a graduate of the UCLA School of Dentistry. After earning his D.D.S. degree, he received post-doctoral training by completing a general practice residency in general and hospital dentistry from Foster McGaw/Loyola University of Chicago School of Dentistry. Upon completion of his residency, he attended Temple University’s School of Dentistry Graduate Orthodontic Program in Philadelphia and received a post-doctoral Master of Science in Dentistry degree (MSD) and specialty Certification in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. In 2007, Dr. Pita received certification from the American Board of Orthodontics. He continued his education by attending the Roth-Williams Orthodontic Fellowship at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry and received additional certification in advanced education in orthodontics, TMJ, functional occlusion, and surgical orthodontics. His professional affiliations include the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, and the Academy of Orthodontic Excellence Study Club. As a result of his additional training, Dr. Pita believes orthodontic treatment goals not only include creating an esthetically pleasing smile, but on creating an orthodontic stable result, and a healthy periodontium (gums), airway and temporomandibular joint.
