She can be found on staff at the Liver Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Catana serves as an Instructor of Gastroenterology at Harvard Medical School. 

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after she earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Târgu Mureș in Romania. She then went on to complete her internship at Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Cluj-Napoca before relocating to the United States. There, she completed her internship and residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. This was followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology at UC Davis Medical Center and a fellowship in transplant hepatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2012 and 2014, respectively.
