He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in hematology & medical oncology at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center with post doctoral training at National Cancer Institue Division of Cancer Treatemnt in Clinical Pharmacology at the NAH. 

Furthermore, he holds a Master of Public Health degree (MPH) at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) at Carey Business School Johns Hopkins, and is a Certified Hospital Medical Director (HMDC) as per the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Passionate about his profession, the doctor is board-certified in hematology, medical oncology, hospice & palliative medicine, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Achieving fellowship status, Dr. Weltz is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), and Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (FAAHPM). He is also an active member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
