Dr. Ladislau Albert practices Neurological Surgery in San Antonio, TX.

As a Neurological Surgeon, Dr. Albert prevents, diagnoses, evaluates, and treats disorders of the autonomic, peripheral, and central nervous systems.

Dr. Albert is trained to treat such disorders as spinal canal stenosis, herniated discs, tumors, fractures, and spinal deformities, among many others.

He was born in Romania but came to America at a very young age. He lived in New York and so he got all of his training there. He learned that the sciences were the best way to help people in their lives so that’s where his interest in medicine began.

Dr. Albert graduated with his Medical degree from the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. After obtaining his medical degree, he completed his Neurosurgery residency from Westchester Medical Center. Furthering his training he completed his Complex Spinal Surgery fellowship with the New York Medical College, Westchester Medical Center.

Dr. Albert is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. The primary purposes of The American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS) are to conduct examinations of candidates who voluntarily seek certification and to issue certificates to those who meet the requirements of the board and satisfactorily complete its examinations.

Dr. Albert received specialized training in spinal surgery, with focuses in degenerative spinal stenosis and herniated disc repair. In addition, he is well-versed in spinal neurosurgical conditions.

Dr. Albert believes the following, “Each neurosurgical patient is a unique individual. The right treatment must be specifically tailored to a combination of that person’s anatomical findings, emotional state, and family support system. A neurosurgeon must always remember to treat the person and not just the radiologic and clinical exam findings.”

In addition to treating trauma of the head and spine, Dr. Albert also treat disorders like epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.

Also, Dr. Albert can perform surgical procedures on the brain, such as stereotactic surgery, microsurgery, endoscopic surgery, stereotactic radiosurgery, and endovascular image guided methods.

To stay up to date in his field, Dr. Albert remains a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, Texas Association of Neurological Surgeons, and has been inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
