Dr. Dirk Anthony Newman graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003. He relocated to the Tucson area in 2014, and now provides his expert services to our community! In addition to earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Newman is an alumnus of the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, as well as the Academy of General Dentistry, and is among the 5% of all dentists accepted as Fellows of the Academy of General Dentistry. In addition to his continued focus on cosmetic dental services, Dr. Newman has pursued advanced work in implant and full mouth reconstruction dentistry. He uses his knowledge and experience to help others in his field by working with the Spear Study Club, and the PIMA Study Club. His Special Certifications/ CE focus include Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Alumni of The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne Florida, and continuing education focus in Cosmetic and lmplant dentistry.
While Dr. Newman has impressive experience in complex restorative cases, his passion lies in helping families achieve excellent dental health, and continuing to help them maintain their strong, beautiful smiles for life. Patients love his easy going, non-judgemental nature and his ability to communicate with them to achieve their desired results. He loves to work with patients to get them healthy. He has a ton of focus on cosmetic and implant dentistry, but some of his favorite patients are the ones that have a large time lapse in care and just want them to get back to healthy functioning. Dr. Newman’s expertise in the field of cosmetic dentistry has also enabled him to deliver stunning changes for people who have long felt self-conscious about their appearance. As much as he enjoys assisting people with dental health matters, he also appreciates that his role as a dentist lets him connect with patients on a personal level, and hear about their lives.
In his free time, Dr. Newman enjoys contributing to his local community by supporting children in scouting, sports, and music. He also helps the community by donating to mission groups, local food banks, and homeless shelters. He worked with Hope Fest providing dentures and appliances to those who have lost their teeth. At home, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa; twins, Jack and Claire; their youngest son, Luke; their cat Bruce and their German Shepherd, Annie. Dr. Newman loves to be involved with his kids’ activities including local youth sports and events, and also enjoys cooking, golfing, exercising, and traveling. He loves hiking around various places in Tucson and up on Mt. Lemmon with his German Shepherd, Annie.
