Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Gladys Laroche, who serves patients in Brooklyn, New York. A caring and dedicated pediatrician, Dr. Laroche sees patients at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County and NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull, both of which are located in Brooklyn, New York. With over three decades of experience, she treats a number of conditions, including ear infections, hearing problems, fevers, asthma, pneumonia, migraines, sore throats, and urinary tract infections. Services she offers include well-baby checkups, pediatric consultations, pre-travel checkups, pediatric sports physicals, and pediatric pre-surgery consultations. Back in the early days of her academic career, Dr. Laroche graduated with her medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara School of Medicine in Mexico in 1977. She then relocated to the United States, performing her internship and residency through Harlem Hospital Medical Center in 1982 and 1984, respectively. Subsequent to her training, the doctor attained board certification in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine through the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement. Advancing excellence, Dr. Laroche is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP) and a member of the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad. Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature. On a more personal note, Dr. Laroche speaks multiple languages, including English, French, Haitian Creole, and Spanish.
