Get to know Psychiatrist Dr. Safinaz Mostafa, who serves patients throughout the State of Georgia.

An established psychiatrist, Dr. Mostafa is affiliated with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, tending to patients in the Buford and Gainesville areas.

Dr. Mostafa holds expertise in treating those with mood disorder, schizophrenia, first episode psychosis, treatment resistant depression, PTSD, dementia, behavioral agitation, ADHD, anxiety disorder  and certain neuropsychiatric disorders. She does cutting edge psychiatry with compassion and care.

Before embarking on her professional journey, she received her medical degree from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, and completed her Masters of Science in biomedical science from Florida Atlantic University. She then went on to complete her residency in psychiatry at Augusta University. She has published her research in Psychiatry and medicine in reputed journal. 

Psychiatry is the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of mental disorders. These include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions. Psychiatrists evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. They conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication, and evaluate treatment results.

On a more personal note, Dr. Mostafa is fluent in English, Arabic, and Bengali.
