Get to know Internist Dr. Jose E. Barros, who serves patients in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Barros is a board-certified internist who can be found on staff at Kendall Regional Medical Center, a full-service emergency care facility specializing in pediatrics and burn care in Miami, Florida.

Kendall Regional Medical Center is a 447-bed, full-service hospital providing the residents of Miami-Dade County with 24-hour comprehensive medical, trauma, surgical, behavioral health and diagnostic services, along with a wide range of patient and community services. A 1999 graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at Universidad de Chile, Dr. Barros relocated to the United States to further his training. Once there, he performed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital. 

Subsequent to his education, Dr. Barros attained board certification through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
