In collaboration with Northwell Health, Dr. Merla also offers his services at Northwell Health Physician Partners Cardiology at Yorktown Heights, and is affiliated with Northern Westchester Hospital.

His acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery Degree from JJM Medical College, Davangere in India. He then relocated to the United States, performing his residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Patterson, New Jersey.

Furthering his training, Dr. Merla completed two fellowships in advanced cardiac imaging and cardiology at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York.

Affiliated with several professional organizations, he is an active member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Society of Echocardiography, and the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
