  • Does sleep position affect eye pressure?

With the knowledge that IOP rises at night or whenever a person is prone, many doctors have advised their patients to sleep in an upright position. One study found that turning the head into a pillow in a simulated sleep position is associated with a clinically significant increase in estimated IOP. READ MORE

  • How long will my eye hurt after cataract surgery?

How long did my eye hurt after cataract surgery? Have you already had surgery some unreported time ago and is your eye still hurting? Have you actually not had surgery and you are just curious? Either way, it is not unusual to have no discomfort or some mild discomfort briefly after surgery. The eye should not be on a chronic basis. Any significant pain, redness, or change in vision should be immediately reported to the surgeon. READ MORE

  • Anti-inflammatory eye drops?

You were told that you probably need anti-inflammatory drops but you don’t provide any diagnosis. Your described symptom can be caused by infection of the eye lids, conjunctiva, or tear ducts, or by allergy or inflammation. Not itching makes allergy less probable. Many but not all infections will clear with Erythromycin. It is not clear why you would have chronic inflammation. Other less common causes must be considered as well. If you had insurance coverage my recommendation would be to follow up with the same doctor or get another opinion. Many University based Ophthalmology Departments have clinics with lower cost if any for people without coverage. READ MORE

  • How do I know if I have computer vision syndrome?

If you have computer vision syndrome you could possibly be too impaired to it up on Wikipedia- Some symptoms of CVS include headaches, blurred vision, neck pain, fatigue, eye strain,[1] dry eyes, irritated eyes, double vision, vertigo/dizziness, polyopia, and difficulty refocusing the eyes. These symptoms can be further aggravated by improper lighting conditions (i.e. glare,[2][3] strong blue-spectrum backlights,[citation needed] or bright overhead lighting) or air moving past the eyes (e.g. overhead vents, direct air from a fan). • Somehow my wife's vision came back?
