In addition to his work in private practice, Dr. Ruiz maintains hospital privileges at Southwest Healthcare System, Inland Valley Campus in Wildomar, California, and Southwest Healthcare System in Murrieta, California.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors in research from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), Dr. Ruiz joined Yale University Medical School in New Haven, Connecticut, and graduated with his medical degree in 1985. Dr. Ruiz completed a general surgery internship and residency (1985 - 1987), as well as an otolaryngology residency (1987 - 1990)at Yale University Medical Center. During his residency, he was honored with the Temporal Bone Dissection Award, which is given to one resident each year.
Dr. Ruiz received board certification in otolaryngology from the American Board of Otolaryngology-head and Neck Surgery. The American Board of Otolaryngology is a non-profit corporation that has set the mission of ensuring professional standards with certificates and memberships, and has offered training in the fields of head neck surgery to professionals since 1924.
