How long does it take to get the results of a skin biopsy?

I have an irregular mole and need to know if I need to get it examined?
Visit your local Dermatologist to have the pigmented lesion (mole) biopsied (removed) and evaluated under the microscope by a Dermatopathologist. The Dermatopathologist will determine if the pigmented lesion is Benign (not cancerous), Pre-cancerous, or Cancer. Your Dermatologist will then discuss with you if any further treatment is necessary. The mole in the picture looks benign, however, I find that pictures are less optimal than an in-person examination. Some Dermatologists will do a further evaluation with a Dermatoscope. Changing moles and black spots are "red flags" so it would be best to visit a local Dermatologist. READ MORE
