Get to know Dr. José Navarro, who serves patients in Tampa, Florida.

Dr. Navarro was born in Managua, Nicaragua. He moved to South Florida at a young age to start a new life full of dreams and hope. 

He played baseball at Nova High School where he won the Florida state championship. It was baseball that opened the doors to a college education. 

He played collegiate baseball at Lagrange College in Georgia where he earned a degree in biochemistry. During his college years he shadowed a local dentist where he became interested in dentistry.  

He earned his DMD degree from the Medical College of Georgia (now Augusta University) and practiced as a general dentist in Warner Robins, Georgia.  He decided to further his education and was accepted at NYU Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY for a specialty in Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry.  

He practiced as a pediatric dentist in Queens, NY; however it was during his pediatric dental experience when Dr. Navarro was exposed to Orthodontics and realized creating beautiful smiles gave him great satisfaction and that it could greatly impact a patient’s life. 

To his great satisfaction he was then accepted into Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at NYU Hospital Centers later earning the Theodore L. Jerrold award in recognition for outstanding achievement.
