Back in the early days of his academic career, Dr. Deogun graduated with his medical degree from Government Medical College, Patiala in India. After relocating to the United States, he went on to perform his internship at Nassau University Medical Center. This was followed by residencies in anesthesiology at the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers and Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Priding himself on providing the best medical attention, he is board-certified in anesthesiology and interventional pain management by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA). As the certifying body for anesthesiologists since 1938, the ABA is committed to partnering with physicians to advance lifelong learning and exceptional patient care. Its mission is to advance the highest standards of the practice of anesthesiology. 

Having been a practicing pain specialist since 1986, Dr. Deogun is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of both chronic pain and acute pain disorders. His main goal is to decrease pain and increase function. In private practice, his focus has been on careful evaluation and diagnosis of each patient, employing a multidisciplinary approach to solving painful conditions. He will use such techniques as neuromodulation, including spinal cord stimulators and pain pumps, nerve ablation, and therapeutic injections to provide pain relief.

Interventional pain management or interventional pain medicine is a medical subspecialty which treats pain with invasive interventions such as facet joint injections, nerve blocks, neuroaugmentation, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, nucleoplasty, endoscopic discectomy, and implantable drug delivery system. An interventional pain management physician focuses on the evaluation, treatment, and prevention of pain. 

In honor of his clinical expertise, Dr. Deogun is the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2018).
