Born in Lima, Peru, Dr. Li completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Irvine (Magna Cum Laude) and his Master’s degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of California at Davis, where he was a Distinguished Scholar. He earned his medical degree from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago. He then completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics in Minneapolis.
Maintaining clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Practicing medicine in Wisconsin, Dr. Li is affiliated with Ascension Wisconsin All Saints Hospital, Ascension Wisconsin SE Franklin Campus, Ascension Wisconsin St. Francis Hospital, Aurora St Luke’s Medical Center, Aurora St Luke’s South Shore, and Aurora West Allis Medical Center.
In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association, he is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

He has also published several medical articles, and has been invited to present his research at national and international scientific meetings.
Involved with the Hispanic community, he has been a leader in the Hispanic Medical Society. He has been invited to speak in community events organized by Mexican Fiesta.
On a more personal note, Dr. Li is fluent in Spanish and also speaks Chinese. In his free time, he enjoys being with his family, travelling and swimming.
