A native of Lamesa, Texas, Dr. Dyer’s passion for dentistry began in his youth. Growing up in a small town, he was influenced by his father’s dental practice and decided early on to follow in his father’s footsteps. His academic journey led him to the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in 1984. He then obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1988, followed by a Master of Science in Periodontics from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 1991.

Dr. Dyer’s expertise is recognized by his status as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and he actively participates in various professional organizations, including the Greater Houston Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Periodontology. His contributions to the field have earned him numerous awards for his groundbreaking research on regeneration and laser treatments, which notably led to FDA approval for specific periodontal laser applications.

As a global leader in periodontics and implantology, Dr. Dyer is renowned for developing the laser PERIO protocol utilized worldwide, and for his innovations in anatomic implant components. His advancements in cosmetic dentistry ensure that dental implants closely resemble natural teeth, and his minimally invasive surgical techniques facilitate quicker recovery times for patients.

Outside of his professional achievements, Dr. Dyer cherishes his family life. He has been happily married to his college sweetheart, Jacque, for over 35 years, and they have two married children, a son and a daughter. His family remains a constant source of pride and joy for him.

An avid cyclist, Dr. Dyer enjoys scaling Colorado’s major passes, participating in the MS 150 ride from Houston to Austin, and cycling around the local area with his teammates from St. Arnold’s Brewery. In addition to cycling, he finds pleasure in bird hunting, gardening, and actively participating in his community through Christ United Methodist Church.
